⚽ S1 Football

Congratulations to our S1 football team who have continued their unbeaten league campaign with an impressive 7-1 win over James Young High School. The 1st half was a very scrappy affair with neither team managing to get a hold of the match. However we managed to in 1-0 up at half time after Liam Flemming slipped past the defender and slotted home. Straight after the break James Young pounced and reacted first to free ball to equalise. Their goal was a blessing in disguise and seemed to wake our team up and only a matter of minutes later we were awarded a penalty after a hand ball in the box. Reece Wilkins got his 2nd of the season after missing the penalty but reacting quickest to the loose ball blasting in the rebound.

St Mags created a lot of chances and controlled the majority of play. We then had an incredible period of play where we scored 5 goals in 9 minutes. Ben Richards netted twice, his 1st was calmly slotted away and a great through ball and the second was a cross (he will say shot) that caught the keeper off guard at his front post.
Mr. Bradley's man of the match Aaron Gordon then scored an impressive header out jumping everyone in the box to win the ball. Liam Flemming then produced a moment of magic when Ben cut the ball across the box for Liam to flick the ball over the defender and volley home an unstoppable shot into the top right corner. The final goal of the game was an unfortunate OG with the defender unable to stop the ball going into the back of his own net.

All round it was a fantastic team effort and now means we face a league title decider against Linlithgow (also unbeaten) in the final match of the season. We hope to have a big home support and will let you know more about the match details nearer the time.
